This circuit in town and situated in edge of beach contains difficult technical parts but also two turns in descent, to negotiate in high speed. Jean-Robert looked forward to this weekend since the beginning of the season. Contrary to Brno, the good weather is present during both trial sessions free of Friday. Jean Robert realizes twice the eighth time what is great and shows that the work made after the disappointment of Brno has already paid, what promises a good session of qualification.

Qualifying session

The Saturday morning cloudy weather does not seem to bring the rain and the drivers runs for thirty minutes. The difficulties of this urban circuit make that several drivers do to a fault from the beginning session and it causes interruptions and yellow flags, forcing the drivers to slow down. Jean Robert and his team have to modify their program. Indeed, JR was not still able to realize a qualifying lap , sixteen minutes before the end of the session. Four new tyres on the car and Jean Robert now has to realize his time, what he succeeds by taking the eighth place of the qualifying session.

race 1

The first race takes place on Saturday after noon and Jean Robert hopes at least to preserve his place of departure and so , to start first for the second race. The departure takes place well, it succeeds in gaining a place. However the first turn is again fatal for him, Jean Robert has again a first contact with another competitor , and he succeeds hardly in minimizing the contact with the rail. The car is damaged but he decides to continue and finishes the race at the 14th place in spite of a damaged car.

Race 2

After this new disappointment , Jean Robert does not have time to complain and runs for the second race at the bottom of the starting grid. The departure takes place again well and it succeeds in gaining three places, follows itself a beautiful ascent which sees him finishing on the seventh final place and allows him to register again two points on the championship.

« The weekend has begun well but the temperament of several drivers put me far in the classification in the beginning on the race 1, involving me in a collision. But I am especially satisfied with progress realized in term of performance of the car, and the ascent in the second race shows that we are improving . I can't wait for Brands Hatch! »
